I was born in 1984 and currently live in Antwerp (Belgium).
Even before I could write, I was inventing stories, which I recorded on tape.
From the moment I learned to read and write, a wonderful world of letters and
books opened its doors. At the age of 15, I wrote my first novel about two
German child-soldiers during the Second World War. One year later this book was
published.
I studied history at the University of Antwerp and I am now working on my PhD. I
also work as a researcher for the historical research centre Geheugen
Collectief.
My passion for history not only reveals itself in my study, but also in my
books; all of them are historical novels. I really love bringing the past and
its people to live!
Many of my novels were nominated for important literary prizes and some of
them even won.
'We, two boys' has also been translated into German, together with the sequel
'Schaduwleven' ('In Einem Leben wie diesem')
